University of Bonn Gender Equality Commission
The Gender Equality Commission is a committee which must be constituted in accordance with § 24, Subsection 2 of the Higher Education Act.
The Constitution of the University of Bonn states (English paraphrase of § 21)
(1) The Gender Equality Commission advises and supports the Central Gender Equality Officer and the University (§ 24) in fulfilling the gender equality objectives.
It will make statements with regard to any objections by the Central Gender Equality Officer according to § 19 Subsection 2 of the Equal Opportunities Act for North Rhine-Westphalia.
(2) The Gender Equality Commission is composed of one female and one male member of each of the following groups: professors, members of academic staff, members of technical/administrative staff, and students. Members are appointed for a term of two years; student members are appointed for a term of one year. The Central Gender Equality Officer and her deputies are advisory members of the commission.
(3) The members of the Gender Equality Commission are elected by the senate, separately for each group.
