Invisible Women - Insights into Feminist AI

Numerous studies have shown that AI reflects societal structures and often reinforces existing inequalities. The Sportlight Discussion "Invisible Women - Gender Bias and the Future of Feminist AI" will explore the origins and impact of gender bias in AI systems and examine how feminist perspectives can help mitigate these biases.

The event begins with a 30-minute guided tour of the exhibition 'Her mit den Portr[AI]ts!'. Following the tour, the spotlight discussion will feature three 10-minute talks by Eva Maria Hille (Department of (Social) Ethics), Hannah Greß (Workgroup Personalized Digital Health and Telemedicine), and Dr. Julia Maria Mönig (Center for Science and Thought). Together, they initiated the interdisciplinary network Feminist AI at the University of Bonn, with the objective to foster critical engagement with AI and strenghthen the visibility of female researchers.

Following the talks, an open discussion will be held.
